Sales for Winnipeg homes hit a record high in 2012 as it reached a dollar volume that’s worth $3.2 billion.
This is only the second time ever that sales were able to go beyond the $3 billion mark, as related by the Winnipeg Realtors Association. The very first time that it was ever reached was in 2011.
As for the details of the sales – sales actually went down by one percent in 2012 when compared to the previous year, with the actual figures being at 13,007 against 13,065. This was somehow offset by the increase in the dollar volume, which went up by five percent – $3.20 billion against $3.06 billion.
The dollar volume for 2012 was helped along by the highest single sale price ever recorded for the city, which reached a sale price of $2.2 million.
