A six year low occurred this past year in Thurston when the number of homes for sale went below 1,000 units in December for the first time during that time period.
This fact was contained in the data that was released by the Northwest Multiple Listing Service last Monday and several factors are also being looked at that could have contributed to the six year low.
The number of units for sale in December of 2011 was at 1,324. That figure fell to 988 units last December, which was a pretty significant 25.38 percent drop from the previous year.
According to Washington Realtors Association President Mark Kitabayashi on Monday, there are a number of different factors that have led to the reduced levels of inventory, and that this could also mean that reduced supply and buyer demand could serve to affect the home process.
